World Yoruba Cultural & Spiritual Heritage Conference

                  ASA KULTURAL SPOKEN WORD & FOLKTALE CHALLENGE


                                       Terms & Conditions of Participation


1. Participants must follow the official WYCSHC/ASA Kultural social media page and complete the official participation form before the registration deadline.

2. Participation is open to individuals aged 16 years and above. Participants below 18 years must obtain parental or guardian consent.

3. Stories presented must be authentic folktales, legends, oral traditions, or cultural narratives originating from the participant’s culture or community.

4. Performances must be delivered primarily in the participant’s native language or dialect.

5. A written English translation or summary of the folktale must be submitted to the organizers at least seven (7) days before the event.

6. Performance duration shall not exceed seven (7) minutes.

7. Participants are encouraged to wear traditional attire and use culturally relevant props that enhance the storytelling experience.

8. Content containing hate speech, discrimination, explicit material, political campaigning, or offensive language shall result in immediate disqualification.

9. Each approved participant will receive five (5) promotional ticket codes to sell or distribute to family, friends, and supporters.

10. Audience support and ticket sales may be considered as part of the overall participation engagement score but will not solely determine the winner.

11. Judging shall be based on:


* Storytelling and emotional delivery

* Cultural authenticity

* Language expression

* Creativity and stage presence

* Audience engagement


12. Judges’ decisions shall be final and binding.

13. By participating, contestants grant WYCSHC permission to photograph, record, publish, and promote their performances across media platforms.

14. The winner shall receive a cash prize of CAD $500 subject to event verification and compliance with all participation requirements.

15. WYCSHC reserves the right to amend competition rules where necessary.




                                  ASA KULTURAL BEST ATTIRE COMPETITION


                                             Terms & Conditions of Participation


1. Participants must follow the official WYCSHC/ASA Kultural social media page and complete the official participation form before the event.

2. Participation is open to all attendees holding a valid event ticket.

3. Contest categories include:

    * Best Dressed Couple – CAD $500

    * Best Dressed Single (Male or Female) – CAD $300

4. All attire must represent African cultural heritage, traditional identity, or contemporary African-inspired fashion.

5. Participants must appear in full attire during the designated judging session and award presentation.

6. Contestants must consent to photography, videography, and promotional use of their images by WYCSHC.

7. Offensive, inappropriate, or culturally insensitive attire may result in disqualification.

8. Each registered participant or couple shall receive five (5) promotional ticket codes to sell or distribute to supporters.

9. Participants are encouraged to promote attendance among their communities to increase cultural participation and audience engagement.

10. Judging shall be based on:


* Cultural authenticity

* Creativity and design

* Colour coordination and presentation

* Overall appearance and confidence

* Stage presence


11. The judges’ decision shall be final.

12. Winners must be present during the awards ceremony to receive their prizes.

13. WYCSHC reserves the right to use all photographs and videos for future promotional purposes.



                        ASA KULTURAL CHEFS & FOOD VENDORS CHALLENGE


                                           Terms & Conditions of Participation


1. All chefs and food vendors must complete the official vendor participation form and receive approval from the organizing committee.

2. Vendors must follow the official WYCSHC/ASA Kultural social media page before approval is granted.

3. Participants must possess all permits, certifications, and approvals required by Alberta Health Services and applicable municipal regulations.

4. Vendors are solely responsible for food preparation, food safety, hygiene compliance, staffing, equipment, and liability associated with their operations.

5. Vendors must provide a signature African dish for competition and public purchase.

6. Vendors shall maintain clean, professional, and culturally representative exhibition spaces throughout the event.

7. Each approved vendor will receive ten (10) promotional ticket allocations to sell to customers, family members, supporters, and community networks.

8. Vendors are expected to actively promote the event and encourage ticket sales through their customer base and marketing channels.

9. The Meal of the Day Winner shall be determined through:

    * Customer purchases

    * Customer voting

    * Presentation quality

    * Cultural authenticity

    * Taste and customer experience

10. Any attempt to manipulate voting or engage in fraudulent activity may result in immediate disqualification.

11. Vendors are responsible for their own inventory, equipment, staff, transportation, permits, and insurance.

12. WYCSHC shall not be responsible for loss, theft, spoilage, or damage to vendor property.

13. Vendors must remain operational during the designated exhibition hours.

14. The winning vendor shall receive CAD $1,000 and official recognition during the event.

15. Vendors grant WYCSHC permission to photograph, record, and promote their food products, stalls, branding, and participation for future marketing activities.

16. The organizers reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or remove any vendor whose conduct, products, or operations do not align with event standards, public safety requirements, or cultural values
